My teenage daughter and I wanted to ride horses in the mountains during our Colorado vacation and we found this place not far from our lodgings. We went on a one hour ride as we are both veginners. Our guide was super informative and picked the perfect horses for us.

I almost didn't make it out here, but am so thankful that I did! It is difficult to access without a car, but I took a "casino" shuttle bus from downtown Denver, and Ginger, the owner picked me up at the casino! Talk about great service!

We took the cemetery ride which provided both a fantastic view up the mountains along an authentic but long abandoned mining road and a short but welcome break (for the occasional rider) to walk around the historic Russel Gulch cemetery. What a great time and experience!

After the ride, Ginger was there waiting and we helped put the horses up and all the tack. We spoke to Ginger and Barb for a little while about horses, Colorado, and life and had a great time. We will be back, can't wait to do another ride. We have ridden horses most of our lives, these horses were in great shape and eager to go at any moment. I have been coming up to A&A Historical Trails for years and the trails and views just keep getting better and better! The trail Ginger has for 2016 is magnificent! Her horses are all well behaved and very safe.
